Since Lesvos is the third largest island of Greece, many travelers book their vacation for two to three weeks, rent a car and explore the many different villages, long hidden beaches and the beautiful surroundings of Lesvos.

Taxis are abundant on Lesvos; there are plenty and easy to find, even at late hours. The cars are usually yellow or gray in colour and are well maintained.

Mytilene has a very big taxi stand at the beginning of the shopping street (Ermou St.). There is a high chance you will come upon a taxi in any area around the town, especially by the harbour and the park.

Travel Lesvos by Bus

If you do not mind curvy roads, the bus is the cheapest way of traveling around the island. One way trips cost just a few Euros. You can buy tickets on the bus and in some cases at some tobacco or deli stands.

There are bus stops at almost every village which makes traveling around Lesvos comfortable and easy.

Locating the bus stop at some towns might be a small challenge, as there are often no signs. Take this chance to talk with locals and ask for further directions.
